Supporting the UK’s partnership with ASEAN on health security
The ASEAN-UK Health Security Partnership (HSP) is a five-year initiative focused on strengthening health security and improve equitable access to primary care across the ten ASEAN member states and Timor-Leste. It addresses urgent challenges like Antimicrobial Resistance, pandemic preparedness, health system resilience and the health impacts of climate change. Through collaboration with UK diplomatic missions in the region, ASEAN health institutions and national stakeholders, the programme supports capacity building, and implementation of national and regional health priorities. By promoting a One Health approach and aligning with the priorities of ASEAN’s Health Clusters, the HSP fosters equitable access to health through targeted funding and technical support.

What we strive for
Our intervention aims to reduce health, social and economic impacts of health emergencies in ASEAN and strengthen global health security. The programme will contribute to three priority outcomes – enhanced preparedness and response to health emergencies, improved resilience of health system and equitable access to care, and increased understanding and action to address the health impacts of climate change.
