The ASEAN-UK Health Security Partnership (HSP) Programme Launched in Vietnam
- 8th October 2025

On 2 October 2025, the United Kingdom, in collaboration with a consortium led by FHI 360 UK, proudly introduced the ASEAN-UK Health Security Partnership (HSP) in Vietnam through a combined launch event and Introduction Session held at the British Ambassador’s Residence in Hanoi.
The HSP is a five-year initiative funded by the UK Government, designed to strengthen regional health security by supporting ASEAN Member States in preventing, detecting, and responding to public health threats. The programme contributes directly to the ASEAN-UK Plan of Action (2022) and supports the strategic priorities of the ASEAN Health Cluster.
This launch event marks the third in-country activity under the HSP and aimed to:
- Introduce the programme to key stakeholders in Vietnam,
- Raise awareness about current and upcoming funding opportunities, and
- Encourage collaboration among government agencies, national health institutions, academia, and development partners.
A key component of the event was the Introduction Session, which provided information about programme goals, alignment to national and regional health security plans, and current and upcoming funding opportunities.
This launch event lays the groundwork for ongoing partnership between Vietnam’s health sector and UK collaborators, as part of a wider effort to build a stronger, more resilient regional health security network.
