About FHI 360 UK
FHI 360 UK is the wholly owned UK subsidiary of FHI 360. As well as supporting the full range of FHI 360 services, particularly in global health security and economic resilience, FHI 360 UK delivers innovative and politically aware governance and Public Financial Management (PFM) programmes globally – including in fragile and conflict-affected states.

Our history
FHI 360 opened our office in London in 2019 to support our work with the UK Government and build on our partnerships with the FCDO and the UK development community. In 2020, FHI 360 acquired Konung International (KI), an international development consultancy specialising in delivery of innovative governance and PFM programmes. These combined operations came together in 2022 to form FHI 360 UK.
Our approach
FHI 360 UK specialises in Political Economy Analysis (PEA) that recognises power is issue and context specific. This perspective draws attention to understanding the agency of different actors relative to their interests, influence, and networks to identify opportunities for and barriers to action for progressive change. We use applied PEA to ensure programmes have greater relevance because they are responsive to the context; deliver insights into why change does or does not happen; help teams navigate complexity with a focus on opportunities and alternatives; and support decision making that has a greater likelihood of people-centred impact.
Our approach is based on an in-depth, detailed analysis of all circumstances surrounding a development challenge, considering factors such as conflict, culture, livelihoods and demographics. We believe that grasping these essential factors can help the design and implementation of stronger, more enduring programmes.
We work in tandem with local partners, donors, governments, and fellow implementing partners to conduct and incorporate ongoing analysis that is constantly updated to reflect changing circumstances. This approach allows us to design adaptive programmes that are responsive to contextual drivers and constraints whilst simultaneously supporting citizens, governments and local organizations to take ownership of and advance reforms.
